Main Sources

The main atmospheric source of 1,3 butadiene is the combustion of petrol from motor vehicles but it is also produced in the production of synthetic rubber for tyres

Health Risks

1,3-butadiene is suspected to be a genotoxic carcinogen and is known to induce cancers of the lymphoid system and blood forming tissue, lymphomas and leukaemia's
