Wood waste can be a valuable commodity, so recycling
wood waste can generate income as well as reducing disposal
costs to landfill.
Timber recyclers will generally accept nearly all soft
and hardwoods (including pallets).
Ferrous contamination (e.g. nails) is usually accepted
as contaminants can be removed by magnetic extraction.
However recyclers often request that non-ferrous materials
such as aluminium window catches are removed prior to
collection.
Recyclers will not generally accept Multi Density Fibreboard
(MDF), paper and card, laminated material, railway sleepers
and chipboard.
Recycled wood waste is used to make a variety of end
products including:- pulp and paper, mulch and soil
amendments and processed fuel pellets.
